# How to get Push Notifications on iOS

## This article describes how to get push notifications on your Apple device (iPhone and iPad).

### Note

- Make sure that you install **iOS version 16.5 or higher**. Previous versions of iOS do not support push messages for Growficient

### What are push notifications?

Push Notifications are alerts that are pushed to your mobile device every 5 minutes. You will be informed when thresholds are reached (e.g. Water Content too low or Dry-out too high). You will receive only one message per change.

### Step 1: Open Growboard in Safari

Open Safari on your mobile device and navigate to https://growboard.growficient.com

### Step 2: Add Growboard to Home Screen

Open the menu by clicking on the **share button** at the bottom of the screen.

Swipe upwards to reveal all options

Click on "Add to Home Screen"

Click on "Add" at the top right of the screen

The Growficient icon is now placed on your Home Screen. This should look something like this.

### Step 3: Login and allow Notifications

Click on the Growficient icon and login

Click on "Allow" to receive push messages
