Describes the best location in the greenhouse to install the gateway.
Location
The gateway can be placed above the concrete path (middle or on the side) or above the plants. Above the concrete path is preferred as this is most easiest to install. But in some cases it is preferred to install the gateway above the plants.
In most cases the location has been defined during the ordering phase.
The best place
Finding the best position of the gateway is important as this determines the range and quality of the wireless network. Please take the following three things in mind for finding the best position:
- Make sure that the antenna is free and no metal or other objects are in the neighbourhood of at least 1m (3 yards).
- Place the gateway as high as possible. The higher the gateway, the better the coverage normally.
- Place the antenna (just) under the sunscreens as screens can contain metal that may reduce the strength of the wireless network.
In general we recommend to place the gateway just beneath the sunscreen with the antenna pointing downwards.
